I had back surgery December 2018 to correct issues caused by spinal stenosis. Recovery was much slower than anticipated, and seven months after surgery, I continued to have leg pain and numbness in my foot. I started physical therapy at Teton Physical Therapy, and Jonathon provided a series of exercises and the use of needling to reduce the pain. Jonathon also recommended aquatic therapy, which I have been doing for two months, and I have noticed incredible improvement. The leg pain is almost entirely gone, and I feel a reduced amount of numbness in my left foot. I believe strongly that aquatic therapy has been the ticket for me.” – Gary Clelan

Where do I start with Miss Denise? I could say that our son, L.P.’s, face lights up every time we mention her name. I could say that he runs across the lobby to hug her at every visit. I could say that we, as his parents, are so happy we found her to help our son. All these statements are true, but it goes so much deeper.

Miss Denise connected with L.P. and with every session we saw an appreciable change. He practiced his words and phrases. The rate at which he progressed was astonishing. He now speaks in full sentences, makes jokes, and loves to tease us. More importantly, however, his frustration in his inability to communicate has vanished. He often wakes up saying, “I’m a happy boy”.

Words cannot express how grateful we are to Miss Denise and the speech therapy program. She has helped our son, and in turn, our family, more than anyone will ever know. He is now a fun-loving boisterous, and happy three-and-a-half year old. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Miss Denise! We are so grateful for you!” – C.P.

I’m so thankful to have found your clinic! The entire staff has treated me with kindness, respect, and professionalism from day one. I was referred to Wendy by a prominent rehab doctor she worked with in Salt Lake. He told me that if not for her being in Jackson, then he would recommend that I come down for some therapy with them to treat my rare case of Cauda Equina Syndrome, brought on by a back injury a little more than a year ago. Jackson is truly fortunate to have someone with Wendy’s knowledge of spinal and nerve conditions. Jessica is outstanding with strength and conditioning. Together, they are a powerful team to have on your side!

I could tell that the way in which your therapy is conducted that not only myself but other patients actually enjoyed going to rehab. I was treated with respect and dignity by everyone on your staff. Additionally, Wendy and Jessica, as well as all of the techs who assisted me, made a concerted effort to make my rehab enjoyable and always seemed as if they were happy to see me. They were all very good at using positive reinforcement while at the same time being realistic. I could tell that these were qualities of all of the therapists at the clinic based on what I observed.

I am confident that I am in a better place today, both mentally and physically, than I would have been had I not found your practice. I would enthusiastically recommend Teton Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation to anyone in need of physical therapy!” – Brooke

“Physical Therapist (PTs) are movement experts who optimize quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands- on care, and patient education.  Physical therapists teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition so that the will achieve long-term health benefits.”  www.apta.org

Family members have had physical therapy. Friends currently are seeing physical therapist. Colleagues speak of going to their physical therapy appointments—In the past they’d mention “physical therapy”  in conversation, It’d go in one ear and out the other–a brushed off quick thought of “what-exactly-does-a-physical-therapist-do?)  Does-physical therapy-really-truly-help?

Welp.  My eyes have seen the light.  I am a believer wholeheartedly now.  Wow! What miracle workers!

I was recently admitted to the hospital for observation.  After a week of not getting better with an original ER diagnosis of vertigo, I contacted my doctor’s office explaining that my symptoms were getting worse—motor skills were not right—my mind would think one way but, verbally I would speak gibberish and utter things completely different from what I was wanting to say.  I would try to type on a computer but gibberish would be typed as well.  I was not able to walk straight, my body having tendency to veer to the left, banging into things.  Concerned that I was perhaps experiencing a stroke or a diabetic coma, I was sent to the ER again, and was consecutively admitted for observation.  I found out that being in a hospital bed is not a place for resting.  I had an amazing revolving door of healthcare teams visit me throughout my stay—in addition to my medical healthcare team, I was visited by nutrition, diabetes education, pharmacy, respiratory health and… physical therapy.

Having never been admitted in my 52 years of life, it was very scary not knowing what was going on! I just want to know why I cant walk straight.  Will I get better? What am I going to do?  Is there a Cure? What have I done? While I am immensely grateful for each and every health care team member from various departments that visited me at bedside, I am most appreciative, over joyed, awed by Physical Therapist, Lindsay Tolle and her team.  She came to do her assessment.  She did her questioning, made her notes, proceeded to have me do some exercises all the while explaining the process, ruling out, the evaluation.  I did not have vertigo.  I have Vestibular Hypofunction…Huh?  I said to myself.  She explained everything, she had me see what was going on.  I cannot express how much her knowledge, her detailed methods, her patience, her sweet demeanor, her kindness and her passion for what she does made me feel that day when I first met her.  She gave me hope.  She gave me inspiration.  She gave me positivity in a moment of such fear that my wellbeing would never be the same again.  All of a sudden the clouds lifted for me and, while I know it will take time to get back to 100%.  I have so much trust and faith in her professionalism and her and the teams’s knowledge that I will be there soon! Heck, two months after the enlightening diagnosis, and several PT appointments with her and Jessica, I am walking straighter.  I am back full time at work.  I can speak more clearly.  I am typing without looking at the keyboard and it is not gibberish! I am still unable to drive but, a couple more sessions and I will back to it!

Lindsay was a shining light. I am forever grateful to her and her expertise. I swear, I think she has wings.  I consider her my angel.  St. John’s Health and Teton Physical Therapy are so fortunate to have her.

I now know how much good a physical therapist does for the world!

Thank you!!!” – Rosa Montano

As an East Coast Senior who spends 3 months in Jackson, I can’t provide enough kudos for Teton Physical Therapy. The staff, the positivity of the facility, the treatment, and their ability to listen, answer questions and explain goals/progress for an injury are all superb. Working with Taryn has greatly improved my son’s ability to follow instructions, take turns, and focus. Her therapy has improved his ability to use scissors correctly, draw shapes, hold a pencil properly, and his core strength. It’s improved his speech and his problem solving abilities. He understands the concept of setting goals and following through to meet them. I could go on forever about how this therapy has changed our lives.” – Hayley Storrud

My experience with oncology rehab was very pleasant.  I am certain that it has a lot to do with my therapist – the Lovely Lindsay.  It offered a regular visit to talk with someone familiar with my surgery for emotional support; as well as the physical manipulation of muscles, lymph nodes, scar tissue and skin response to post surgery and the reconstruction process.  Also, it was nice to have a professional seeing and doing a frequent assessment of the condition of my skin during and after the radiation process – where I got fried, necessarily, by the way.  Thanks to all who have made this program possible and available to those in need.”  Sincerely, Donna Nethercott

Denise’s time working with our son, J., has been, without a doubt, one of the best therapy experiences he has received. Shortly after finishing my last radiation treatment I received a call from Emma to set up an appointment for OT. At the time I was wondering “what for?” but made the appointment anyway.

I had several lymph nodes removed and was still dealing with radiation burns, stiff arm and breast pain. After the first session I was “hooked”! Now I have the full range of motion of my right arm and her gentle massages have relieved the pain. Emma treats the whole person – mind, body and spirit. Her conversations, instructions, and directions added a new dimension to my physical healing.

I hope all that learn of your services have the privilege of getting your beneficial healing services! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!” – Nancy
