Susan Detweiler, OTR/L, MOT

Suz (“Sooz”) has been based in the Tetons since 2003. Her current outdoor passions include backcountry and Nordic skiing as well as climbing, mountain biking, and rivers. She found her way to Occupational Therapy having spent decades facilitating people overcoming the psychological and physical challenge of climbing mountains around the world (including 4 of The Seven Summits). She guided/taught technical outdoor skills in various environments, including frequently guiding climbers up the Grand Teton for Exum Mountain Guides, retiring in 2019 as a Senior Guide. In Antarctica for 11 seasons, she taught survival and other skills, along with guiding researchers, before attending graduate school for her Masters in OT. Now she is excited to facilitate people overcoming more fundamental challenges to improve their lives and well-being through occupational therapy. She is eager to further enhance her ability to serve clients by obtaining certifications in pain management, neuro rehab, lifestyle/wellness, and aging in place.
